Snip It, Clip It -
Donate It to Locks of Love:
Locks of Love Two Fundraiser

Who we are?

We are a group of friends and children who are trying to help children like Taylor Corkum who lost her hair after she was treated for a malignant brain tumor.  She was growing her hair to donate it to Locks of Love when she became diagnosised with a tumor.  Inspired by her story we have created a campaign to collect donations of hair for Locks of Love on her behalf. This will be our second year for this fundraiser, last year we sent 32 donations of hair to Locks of Love.

Hair Donation Requirements:

Hair 10 inches long-tip to tip

Permed hair or colored hair is acceptable

Highlighted or bleaches hair can not be used

For more information about hair donation requirements you can visit Locks of Love website  http://locksoflove.org/donate.html

Pay It Forward

This year we are excited to tell you about a new aspect of our fundraiser, Taylor and her family and friends will be hosting a Pay It Forward campaign.  A family in need will be choosen and the funds raised will be given to this family on behalf of Taylor and her family as a means to help another family through a challenging time.

How can you participate or help?

The most challenging part of this campaign is finding people with hair long enough to donate it to Locks of Love.  Last year we had 13 students participate between the ages of 5 and 13 and several adults.  If you or you know anyone that would like to participate in this program, complete the on line form located under contact us.
If you want to participate or show your support in another way you can come see us at Tantallon Superstore on Saturday, February 27, from 10-2 as we pack your groceries, streak your hair or you could purchase a fun fur pencil or flower pen.  On Saturday, March 6, you can join us at Halifax Shopping Center as our participants show of their new hairstyles on our Red Carpet.

Thank you

By visiting our site, you've taking a moment out of your busy day to think about children like Taylor and her family, who are greatful for your support. When I sat with Glenda (Taylor's mom) in hospital during her operation I felt helpless and needed to find a silver lining in this dark cloud.  I've discovered when you can't find that silver lining you create one and that's how our Locks of Love campaign began.
Thank you for helping us help Taylor and her family and other children like her.
